Review on "Late For The Sky" magazine
If I did not know that Stefano Frollano is Italian and if the CD it said "made in Italy", listening in the dark I would think that you have in your hands, or ears, the album of a fan of the West Coast sound tinged by easy listening of late seventies. In fact, I would not go very far : Stefano Frollano, musician and author of music books (don’t miss the illustrated discography of Neil Young released by Coniglio Editore and the monumental work in English co-written with other authors, "Crosby Stills Nash and sometimes Young) is really a follower of that sound, even more than a follower, there is so much in that his compositions are West-Coast in all respects, with the value to be reckoned with to maintain their originality, never appear quotations or imitations. I think this is a clear sign of professionalism and ability to assimilate without necessarily copying the sacred models. In the songs that make up this “Sense Of You” There are so echoes of these models, but each track shines on its own, rather it is the use of friends and musicians such as Jeff Pevar and James Raymond (his piano is unmistakable) to define the sound here and there, without ever invade. Sure, there are echoes of Neil Young acoustic and intimate in the opening track – and sung by a female vocal on closing one - in “(She Won’t) Fly Away” and “Chagall’s Song” and there are references to James Taylor, as well as the electric guitar “ Believe” the recall is back to Canadian of CSNY, but the nice thing is that the CD travels well of its own, because it has its own, a sound unit that wraps around. Here's one thing if I have to tell.. I would not have put the saxophone and trumpet, but only because I do not like to use them in this kind of music, but for the rest of this “Sense Of You” is really good, Frollano is accompanied not only by his Californian friends named above, also by a group of Italian friends who deal with keyboards and rhythm section (the guitars are strictly his!) and friends who offer him a large level of vocal duets, all very good, Gabriella Paravati, Paola Casella, Chiara De Nardis and Laura Visconti – where in the acoustic ballad “Northern Lights” it seems that Frollano is duetting with Grace Slick! -. Even the song that I like the least, “Fallin 'Apart” (Nash too much related) is enhanced by an attractive and masterful queue of Hammond organ. The lion's share is still in the notes to “The Dance”, chosen as a radio single in edited version included as a bonus track on the disc, and the tilte track instrumental introduction benefiting from fear. Stefano Frollano at Neil Young's Contest for
Dangerbyrds are an obscure band, a yet-to-be-known name in the rock 'n' roll circus. They play only when the feel is right. They don't like studio tricks, they don't like the perfect take and they usually record without the net. They like spontaneity, they like the vibrant freshness of the very first takes and the true spirit of r'n'r. They don't like over-rehearsing. Actually they do not rehearse at all: they just gather in a studio when the time is right and music calls them. They push "record" and they go, out there in their own space to follow the Muse. Now they are back with an engaging version of Woody Guthrie's "This Land is Your Land", appropriately recorded on May 24th, Bob Dylan's birthday. In this raw cut, you will find Woody, Bob, Neil and all the passion animating Dangerbyrds. Enjoy! http://www.talenthouse.com/creativeinvites/preview/a6fe56fd65375e832253b16a6f383e71/565

Stefano Frollano at Radio Manà Manà 89.100
Stefano Frollano will be the main guest at Radio ManàManà (broadcast on FM 89.1), February 10, 2012 at 18:00, during Mana'ttan radio program, conducted by Maurizio Modica, Mila and Riccardo Rastelli , to premiere his latest album titled “Sense Of You” (Terre Sommerse, 2011). The musical masterpiece of the singer and guitarist Stefano Frollano, includes the participation of important Italian and foreign artists including the pianist James Raymond and guitarist Jeff Pevar (coming from CS&N and CPR camp), Francesco Isola on drums, Marco Vannozzi on bass (from Stradaperta, the historic band of italian singer Antonello Venditti), strong talented trumpeter Franco Piana, the harpist Giuliana De Donno and percussionist Luca Scorziello (who collaborated with Alex Britti). The album, recorded between Italy and the United States, opens with “Hello!” starring Frollano and closes with the same song sung by the voice of Gabriella Paravati painfully touching. The CD sounds of high winds stirring music, pop, rock, folk and jazz in an original and personal way artistic sophisticated women's voices accompanied by Daria Venuto, Chiara De Nardis, Paola Casella and Laura Visconti. The development of such a mix of genres is given by the biography of the singer: Italian origin, he moved for some times in California by absorbing the musical influences of American folk-rock in the '70s born on the west coast by renowned artists such as Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young. Listening to the disc reveals a deep inner path, alternating between intense thoughts and feelings of the soul expressing the complex and delicate relationship between man and woman. As you read the notes of the booklet accompanying the CD, Frollano speaks with a romance by no means certain, that universe of "two" in which the woman is the muse of his work. The common thread is the love for it, not a feeling exhibited by sweet but empty, quite an intense passion that can evolve out of that "A Scanner Darkly," which in the novel PK Dick is a "dark look" in which he does not observe the other person's inner life, but we see only his physical image, and really see inside the heads and hearts of those we love. www.radiomanamana.it

Review on Donato Zoppo's blog
Think about California. Think about "Big Chill" for “If I Could Only Remember My Name”. Think of a country at the turn of the cosmic journey of the Grateful Dead. Think about sensual and elusive style of Love, the warm nights of Frisco of Santana, the magical flight of the Jefferson Airplane. Take off. So Stefano Frollano, inspired by the metaphysics of the West Coast, the inimitable charm of ping pong between San Francisco and Los Angeles, looking back through the maze Inland Empire, gave birth to a disk that is not just a tribute to the California sound. And 'that sound: it has assimilated, absorbed, penetrating left but, with respect and dedication, has also been updated, combining it with flavors of pop and rock-blues-fusion. In fact “Sense of You” is not a hard process of imitation or bulky quotations: it is a work order and appealing, that engages even the best American rock, eg. to Steely Dan, Toto, Dave Matthews Band. “(She Won’t) Fly Away”, the title track, “Believe”, “The Dance” and “Fallin’ Apart” the best moments of a fresh and communicative work, only occasionally impersonal, made with class and is intended for mature audiences. http://donatozoppo.blogspot.com/2012/02/chi-va-con-lo-zoppo-legge-molecole-n-21.html

Review on Italia Oggi Sette italian newspaper
For those who make a certain kind of music, the years run is a good thing. It can be said with certainty, for example, that Johnny Cash's last works are more interesting than those of his early work, and equally applies to the latest recordings of Stefano Frollano. The guitar player and singer of Rome, who in his resume also boasts publications dedicated to Neil Young and Crosby, Stills & Nash (as well as collaborations with some of these musicians) in this new work, "Sense of You" seems to have found new vigor and presents beautiful in form. His ballads, his voice, his guitar whomper stomper fits perfectly singers with whom he sings on the disc (Paola Casella, Chiara De Nardis, Gabriella Paravati, Daria Come and Laura Visconti), ranging from blues to r & b, making this one of the best albums of independent Italians CD of this season. Frollano has always surrounded himself with excellent musicians, and not denied in this work. In fact, employees are first rate, from Francesco Isola (drums) Marco Vannozzi (basso), passing some famous guests such as the pianist and keyboard player James Raymond (son of David Crosby!) and Jeff Pevar (guitars). The disc is so pleasant and well played. Its sweet compositions ("Believe" and "Your Eyes"), the effective back-up acoustic guitars and interesting nd interesting vocal mixes will not fail to attract the attention of fans. Good for lawyers who seek emotional charge.

Review on the italian mag "Buscadero"
Stefano Frollano - Sense Of You – (Terre Sommerse, 2011) *** For sometime to this part we are witnessing a "return" of California sound, the Westcoast music, the myth lives in Laurel Canyon characters such as Dawes and Jonathan Wilson, to name a few, but there on the crest of the wave are many others. Also in Italy we have our students of those sounds, soft and refined if necessary but are able to travel to their guitars. Stefano Frollano, Roman, author of two books on the universe C, S, N & Y is certainly one that has love and affinity for this music, an Italian "by mistake" but Californian by adoption, who for many years expressed his love through a series (not significant, but it is difficult to make records) albums, culminating in this “Sense of You”. Recorded and designed in Italy and the States employs a group of five female voices in different ways enrich the texture of the CD - Gabriella Paravati, Daria Venuto, Chiara De Nardis, Paola Casella and Laura Visconti – a precise and inventive rhythm section, his acoustic and electric guitars, forged through years of crystalline faith in Young & Co and a couple of "surprise guests" such as James Raymond, Crosby's son, on keyboards and guitarist, always by the CPR, Jeff Pevar, which are the icing on the cake. I can assure you that the result, under the guidance of the same Frollano, both technically and as a music content has nothing to envy, though it may be derivative (but who is the original), from the already mentioned but also by the likes of Eric Andersen , Joni Mitchell, Dan Fogelberg I'm sure a source of inspiration, also mediated by an all-Italian taste for melody. The record, of course, is strictly sung in English and since the initial (She Won’t) Fly Away is a breathe of California highways with the Pevar slide guitar that remember to us Jackson Browne songs. “Believe” in Stefano gives some essays of his skill as a guitarist, while “The Dance” with the two guitars backed by a Fender Rhodes and the trumpet turns toward the blue-eyed-soul, and found on YouTube. “Northern Lights”, from the languid sound, reminiscent of recent CPR and piano duet with Paravati “Your Eyes” is more refined and classy, with the extra touch of harmonica, the title track with “Sense Of You” two American guests in evidence has a nice instrumental coda with the guitars of Jeff and Stefano gives us in with taste. Just to mention a few songs but for those like the album might hold some pleasant surprises. A small gem, get it because it's worth it. Bruno Conti

Review on Rockerilla italian mag
As explained in the same Frollano CD booklet, "Sense Of You" is first and foremost a tribute to those musicians who - like CSN & Y, Jefferson Airplane or Grateful Dead - they did a season of great American rock. All his songs are moving in this “school of thought "and are always played with great passion, sometimes marked by the valuable contributions of James Raymond and Jeff Pevar, employees and associates of David Crosby. Perhaps for this reason it really struck a song to the arrangement a bit unusual as "Northern Lights", with all overdubbed beautiful harps played by Giuliana De Donno. The song is the head of a project, however successful, non-commercial and courageous. (Giancarlo Susanna, Rockerilla, # 371/372, July/August 2011)

Stefano Frollano, singer and guitarist, although very Italian, is artistically an “American” songwriter : not only writes and sings in English, but especially the roots of his inspiration undeniably rooted in the heyday of the "west coast" of the seventies, inextricably linked to the names of the legendary Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young, Joni Mitchell, Jackson Browne, James Taylor. Stefano has a personal in-depth research on music in California as a writer and journalist, as evidenced by numerous books and publications out both in Italy and abroad. Such devotion must not be misleading. In his brand new album - "Sense of You" - these ideas are filtered through a sensibility very personal. Recorded in between Rome and the Pacific Ocean, is a hard rock sound from the round, soft and enveloping, with a gleaming sound of guitars, and enriched by the presence of distinguished guests: James Raymond on keyboards and Jeff Pevar on guitars sound perfectly able to compete on par with the most renowned international productions. Hard to churn out, in the year of grace 2011, a rock album "Classic" does not show a thin veneer of stale or have heard, a bit of "deja vu", just to stay in theme. Frollano miraculously manages to escape the danger, with songs that sound fresh and inspired, despite the overall homogeneity of the work, each song is embellished by decorates Celtic harp Giuliana De Donno in "Northern Lights", the trumpet and jazzy Franco Piana of the flugelhorn in "The Dance" and "Memory of Your Love". These are songs of love, loss and reacquisition of a breath, longing for a pulse, man-woman relationship. And it is the presence of women Ariadne's thread to guide us in the folds emotional album: five different voices of women who take turns, now in the shadows, in the background of the chorus, now in the open, the protagonists on the stage. As in the tender "Hello," which opens and closes the curtain, you duck when Stefano, the new knight serving, giving way to the vibrant voice of Gabriella Paravati.

Review on Bruno Conti's Discoclub.myblog
My own readers habitually know, usually does not (by choice and personal taste) Italian music. But as you can imagine from the title of the article, in this case, Italian music has to do very little, indeed, when a few nights ago I had a brief phone conversation with Stephen Frollano, the author of the CD (I did not know him) an objection to my unfamiliarity with Italian music, I was rightly pointed out (and with a bit of surprise) that this album Sense Of You comes from other musical universes. Mainly from the West Coast (as a genre) and California in particular, elective affinity, deep love (and as stated on the booklet) to Crosby, Stills and Nash, Neil Young, Joni Mitchell, Jefferson Airplane, Grateful Dead & Jerry Garcia ( and many others, overtones). Meanwhile, let's face clearly, right from the start, the disc (a term that evokes the past glory) I like, first of all has a nice sound, professional, product quality, with a number of musicians (Italians, but always by accident) and a pair of foreign guests, the son of David Crosby, James Raymond on keyboards and, again by CPR, Jeff Pevar on guitar and slide solo. And besides, they could not expect the uncle or cousin of Lady Gaga's Simon Le Bon. But the Italians, especially the rhythm section of bassist Marco Vannozzi (who played in the group of Venditti) and drummer Francesco Isola and a host of female voices (five, brave and cute, as is apparent from listening to the CD for the first statement and photos contained in the "luxury" booklet or should I say, for the second statement). The CD comes in a “Tunnel” package, I swear, it is called in this way; it means that the jewel box is stuck in a rigid jacket, technically called that way! For the moment you trust your favorite reviewer, then when you have the opportunity to hear and see the album in question will give me reason. Although here we encounter the first obstacle: our friend Stefano and the label that produces the CD are both located in Rome, this writer is in Milan and I assure you that unfortunately in Italy to "travel" and find the self-produced live disc especially the willingness of fans and word of mouth (in this case, "hint" of a friend), otherwise it is easier to find the records of imports from New Zealand or Japan. It is not something only Italian, if you're in the States and look for a record in New York "independent" product to California or vice versa, as will those who have tried have seen is often easier to seek and find, paradoxically, in Italy. End of digression. As for his CV, as a musician, journalist and writer, without dwelling too much you can go and read directly on its website (www.stefanofrollano.com where to get around this problem just mentioned can also buy the CD). At this point, however, I have to convince. Let 's think of all the gentlemen mentioned before, the abundant shake them briskly and add splashes of soft rock, I know that here I go on, but otherwise you would not be specialized in this Blog, the first addition that comes to mind is style to Michael Franks, Bill LaBounty, some refinements to Robben Ford or Larry Carlton (but not jazz), but Mark-Almond Jon Mark, or just more sophisticated and suffused, or names that may not tell you (but they tell me) as Ned Doheny, Terence Boylan, the various components of the Taylor family and many other Californians, or when the slide reaches Pevar notes some steps to Lindley or Lowell George (and here I would like to quote a "certain" that made Tom Jans magnificent discs in the 70s and few people know that). But even a Yankee "lost brother" of Frollano, told to the Buscadero, Max Meazza, another musician in love with the American and English music of quality. The female vocal harmonies evoke even the universe of the first Dan Fogelberg or Eric Andersen “Blue River”, with the added voice of Joni Mitchell. Maybe I'm exaggerating slightly (but that just enough to intrigue the potential buyer) but to give you the idea that here we are faced with music that is made with passion and love (even for the female population mentioned earlier), as well to the professionalism and attention to detail and cited this was also reflected in the texts (which also inspired the SF Philip P. Dick's A Scanner Darkly, quoted in the booklet, all in English). Having talked about everything maybe two words to spend on the protagonist is also the case. The voice of Stephen Frollano, who will not, of course, that David Crosby is still largely adequate to the task, often mixed with female vocals harmonize in style West-Coast, has its own charm and undoubted technical expertise combined with the guitars and power (where the passion for Neil Young is often more melodic solo afloat) that ensures that the interest of the noise is still alive. Introduced by a brief snippet of sound “Hello!” then back to end full album sound even more with the beautiful voice of Gabriella Paravati carpet measured and Crosby emphasized by the guitars of Frollano, the disc opens with the airy melodies and typically the initial California highway “(She Won ' t) Fly Away” with the second voice of Daria Venuto and stinging slide Jeff Pevar underlining a song that would make a good impression on Jackson Browne’s “Running On Empty”. “Believe” fascinated by the guitar in the same headway Frollano guitarist confirms that measured by light touch and melodic solo that builds with repeated interventions to Neil Young's solo on the soft voices of the same plots of Stefano and the above-mentioned Paravati. “Chagall's Song”, with the repeated vocals of Chiara De Nardis stressing the fabric of the soundtrack, leans James Raymond on keyboards, piano and synth and percussion Luca Scorziello which give it that air vaguely jazzy blue-eyed soul. “The Dance”, still with the two guitars Frollano and Pevar and caressed with delight, brings out the Fender Rhodes of Raymond and trumpet guest Franco Piana and the beautiful voice of Paul Casella (yet different, but how do you know?), everything unravels with plush refinement worthy of the best Robben Ford, Michael Franks or less blues with some reference to the Joni Mitchell more disengaged. Beautiful music for a pleasant evening with friends. “Northern Lights” with a beautiful arrangement that highlights the harp Giuliana De Donno placed on a carpet of small percussion introduces yet another female vocalist, Laura Visconti, who duets with our friend Frollano languidly in a song reminiscent of tracks Crosby recent years, that of CPR, less vocal and sound research but calmly. Very nice textures too long and piano sound of “Your Eyes, "another duet with Gabriella Paravati emphasizing its harmony with one of the best vocal performances of the author who tries his hand at a profit even harmonica, all very tasteful and classy . “Fallin 'Apart” with a nice Hammond organ that accompanies and enhances the sophisticated evolution of the solo with a touch of more vigorously to a sound that maybe, sometimes, is too soft, if we find fault with the disc. “Memory Of Your Love” with electric guitar sipping small cascades of notes is another beautiful ballad vaguely jazzy night and also stressed by flugelhorn Franco Piana on additional layers of sophistication to make musical works. For the title track “Sense of You” slide the back of Jeff Pevar that gives a greater sense of determination and urgency to the track, with lots of guitars and keyboards that Raymond, layer by layer, the density in the central part of the sound while not we do miss another duet with Daria Venuto, before the beautiful instrumental coda where the solos follow each other seamlessly and then slowly fade into silence, I see good in the evenings live. “Hello!” acoustic version we have already said, as a bonus there is also “The Dance” (Radio Edit), which is a shorter version of long version in the hope that some radio, maybe California (also Italian) transmit it. Obviously we are not dealing with a masterpiece that will save the fate of the global recording industry, but for those who love the genre, a pleasant, honest album much better than much garbage that circulates in this moment and hope that the author of the best fortunes. Stefano Frollano from Italy with the second solo album recorded in Rome and the U.S.. Knowing that this songwriter willing to participate in the writing of a book titled Crosby Stills Nash and sometimes Young, we doubt that the sound of the Californian quartet is not for nothing in his vocation. There are certainly lovely melodies and soft rock arrangements distilling a pleasant and peaceful climax. We salute the real quality of voice, some solos on slide guitar a là Lindley and vocal harmonies of female singers who bring a different thickness has a rather introspective. Bravissimo.

Review in Neil Young Broken Arrow magazine, issue 121, Febr 2011, UK
Towards the end of 2010 long term NYAS member Stefano Frollano issued his fine second solo CD, Sense Of You. Stefano originally trained as a classical guitarist and over the years has developed into a highly skilled guitar player and writer. A wide ranging musical career that stretches back to 1978 has encompassed playing and recording with several bands, some radio, thetre and soundtrack work and even the publication of four books, including in 2006 his excellent illustrated Neil Young Discography (Italian language). His major musical influences have been mainly the west coast sound of CSN (&Y) and for his first solo release in 2006 (“SF”) he was fortunate to able to record with Jeff Pevar and James Raymond. He has been able to repeat that with this release, and the CSN sidekicks are again well to the fore in this collection of self-penned songs. Most of his work is marked by the overall richness of the sound, which often has a jazzy/soulful feel. The production is very clean and some of the playing, especially on the guitar, is very good. There’s a certainly a lot to like on here, especially with the playing. I think that the sound is generally better than the lyrics, but it can’t be easy for an Italian writing 100% in English. For me, although, the lusher moments do tend to dominate this set, Stefano’s at his best when he rocks and starts to build up a head of steam. Among the highlights is the near 6-minute “Believe”, with its searing guitar intro and solos which wander deep into “Cortez” territory. It’s also got a really unusual, abrupt transition after the introduction, which initially caught me out but which now is growing on me, and some punchy drums that lead into a really hooky riff that pops up at the end of each verse. And then, just as Stefano starts to really get into his stride on lead guitar, it unfortunately fades out. Another minute of this would have been fine… Driving guitars also take pride of place on “Fly Away” where they power the song along, and where there is also some excellent lead guitar work (I assume from Jeff Pevar). “Memory Of Your Love” has a dreamy, floaty acoustic feel, augmented with a well-played trumpet giving it a laid-back late-night mood, which is very listenable. A feature of this CD is the use of female vocalists on several of the cuts, most notably on the full version of “Hello!” This track displays some fine acoustic guitar playing and a full lead vocal from Gabriella Paravati. Perhaps this helped Stefano concentrate on his guitar playing and there is some strong acoustic lead playing. The song itself is pretty good, but I’m not greatly taken with the vocals, and it would be interesting to hear Stefano sing it solo. I’d also like to hear more of Stefano’s acoustic playing, his work throughout “Hello” being the best example of his attractive percussive style (think of Neil’s work on “Look Out For My Love” – individual notes picked out from chords, and lot of pull-offs and hammers on). On “Northern Lights” the female harmony embellishments don’t come off, although the harpand percussion are interesting. It really sounds like there’s a song in there trying to get out. The James Raymond piano riff on “Your Eyes” is also quite strong, but here again the female backing vocals are overdone and for me tend to get it away. I like a lot of this album, but I think it’s a case of less might have been more. The playing is great and there are some promising songs, but overall it doesn’t quite work out for me, especially with so many female vocals. It would be interesting to hear a more stripped down treatment of some of this material. But it’s a great effort, and you should check this out. Scott Sandie

Review on Real Roots Cafè, The Netherlands
The first thing you notice about this CD is the packaging. In a book or more a magazine in a format that transcends just A5, stand beside a lot of information about the musicians (with pictures) the lyrics and a bio of our hero, an Italian by birth. Stefano Frollano is singer-songwriter (self uses he prefers the term 'composer') on his 13th classical guitar and learned to play and then totally hooked touched on the California music from the golden era of Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young (his first LP was "Déjà vu!). In the 80 years of the last century he founded a number of bands in folk-rock/blues. Only in 1995, a first CD of his former band Skydog. A number that landed on a compilation CD from Sony, "Il Blues in Italia vol. 2 ', so some Skydog fame. Until 1997, the band of this life, when the members went out together. Stefano moved over to the U.S. West Coast to work on a solo CD, which finally appeared in 2006 under the simple title of “SF”. His second solo CD, "Sense of You 'between April 2008 and September 2009 recorded in Italy (Rome) and the USA (of course the west: California and Oregon). We hear the accompaniment Jeff Pevar (lead guitars, slide guitar) and James Raymond (various keyboards), both frequently present in the backing band for Frollano's favorites Crosby, Stills and Nash as well as some Italian comrades on bass, percussion, trumpet / flugelhorn and Hammond organ. No less than five Italian beauties polish the background with beautiful vocals. And in the beautiful acoustic "Hello" is even the main vocal for one of these ladies (Gabriella Paravati), our Stefano is the only other present and shines on his acoustic guitar. The best role in the musical accompaniment to me is in the hands of the harpist Giuliana De Donno (only the name!), who really shines in the beautiful acoustic ballad "Northern Lights", whose lyrics read like a fairy tale: 'A golden road I'll take from the past, a dream untold That Will Not be the Last. " The man writes good poetic lyrics, with love, his main inspiration is - well, because you're Italian. The music, incidentally, is a mysterious blend of rock, blues, pop and soul and especially jazz (particularly the contributions on trumpet and jazzy flugelhorn come by) with a total playing time of just under the full hour. Good variety, nice arrangements, good vocals. Sense of You "is a nice CD, but how do I put it in my collection? (Fred Schmale)

The guitarist, singer and songwriter in love with the Italian West Coast publish a new collection of songs recorded between Italy and the United Stay, enhanced by the collaboration of first class musicians such as Jeff Pevar and James Raymond (CPR, CSN). The songs, sung in English, arrangements show off stylish and never predictable, able to explore a wide range of sound nuances. Frollano puts his talent to serve the guitar tracks, moving naturally from engaging groove as that of (SheWon't) Fly Away, which slides on the unmistakable slide guitar Pevar, to the atmosphere of dilated Memory Of Your Love, cross the elegant trumpet Franco Piana. A review on the webmag Roots Highway, Italy
New chapter "California" by Stephen Frollano, which replicates the collaborations of the previous self-titled solo debut, involving session men such as Jeff Pevar on guitars and the piano and the organ and keys of James Raymond . For an author (and passionate) also responsible for writing books about the adventure of Crosby Stills Nash & Young, taking advantage of the help of a few historians of the latter is clearly evidence of a strong artistic bond. An inspiration flow proudly in the sunlight that is reflected in the “Sense of You”, of course, work littered with soft West Coast (the silky slide guitar that accompanies the melody “(She Won’t) Fly Away”, and still “Believe”, “Your Eyes”, “Memory Of Your Love), ballads that make a certain formal elegance of a polished pop rock and even the borders of easy listening (“Chagall's Song”, but above all the single “The Dance”, revived as a bonus track in the "radio edit ") their hallmark. Recorded in Italy, California and Oregon (in studies of the same Pevar), the disc marks a maturity and independence Frollano as the author, who signs all the songs and joust between electric and acoustic guitars, asking then the support of a long list of Italian musicians experts, including distinguished Franco Piana's trumpet and rhythm section consisting of Francesco Isola and Marco Vannozzi, in addition to the different female voices (Gabriella Paravati protagonist in the closing sound of “Outro: Hello!” ) accompanying style sliced Frollano. There maybe a limit to recognize, at least for our staff to understand some American music taste: some stylistic choices and arrangement (the aforementioned The Dance, the guitar solo that appears in the same Sense of You) appear too "domesticated" excessive cleaning by spreading a film of the entire album. (6.5) (Fabio Cerbone)

Review on Red Hot Rock, Sweden
Stefano Frollano Sense of You I realy like it when something extra is done out of the regular album cover. Stefano Frollano skipped the whole plastic box and has instead made a lavish large-size book. Unfortunately the exterior may be better than the inside. It's grown-up singer-songwriter, with hints of both progressive (Genesis), as well as folk rock. It's a grand work with big reverbs and delay on the guitars, but the song material is a bit weak. Not bad, but not great either. The score is average. Petter Seander / Red Hot Rock

A 5 stars review from USA!!! Kamakaze Blog
This album is magnificent in it’s depth of feeling and expression. The songs are beautiful. These finely crafted and intoxicating songs feature complex orchestrations and unforgettable lyrics. The music is full of passion and romance. It is burning and blazing, enveloping the listener and drawing one into the story of each song. This album is unique in the way the artist includes different female vocals to bring the fantasy of the songs to life. It takes the images or pictures of the woman in the dream and makes her real. The artist sings from his heart and bears his soul. The vocals are captivating and his European accent gives his voice charm and elegance. The emotion is genuine and the sound is romantic and alluring. Stefano Frollano has created a musical masterpiece, born of fantasy and fed by reality. This album is a must-have for any music lover. Five Stars! Michelle Williams

Review from UK Magazine, Maverick
*** Amazingly rich production, run of the mill lyrics Italian musician Stefano Frollano is a fan of West Coast (rock) music, in particular Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young. A published author, his books have focused on his musical heroes. A veteran of Italian rock bands, SENSE OF YOU is Stefano’s sophomore solo outing and he penned the ten songs featured. Frollano’s voice is heard on the forty second (reprise of) Hello! which launches the album, while the full, almost six minute long, acoustic guitar led version with Gabriella Paravati lead vocal (tantamount to) closes the collection. The disc actually contains twelve selections, the bonus being a Radio Edit of The Dance. Frollano is assisted by keyboard player James Raymond (David Crosby’s son) and the electric and slide guitars of Jeff Pevar (Crosby, Pevar and Raymond) as well as a slew of Italian session musicians and a coterie of female vocalists. Stefano’s lyrics are in English and he sings with barely a hint of accent. That said, his words tend to focus on love and love alone - welcomed or spurned. On the second selection (She Won’t) Fly Away, Daria Venuto is Stevie to Frollano’s Lindsey. An antidote to the mainly electric guitar led anthems, there’s a few acoustic oriented selections such as Northern Lights and Memory Of Your Love. The foregoing should give you a good idea of the musical content. ArthurW

Review and Interview on Blogfoolk, Italy
Talented guitarist and songwriter, Stefano Frollano boasts an enviable artistic career that saw him star on the national music scene, especially with bands like the Roman, Skydog, The Wave, Karma, and Young & Old (Neil Young tribute band), but also to side of Crosby, Stills & Nash, which was also co-author of the complete works for them. Sense of You, his second album, comes four years after his debut album and features eleven tracks, where the Roman singer / songwriter was almost a concept album is the theme of man-woman relationship, to immerse themselves in intimate reflections on pain and separation. Stefano Frollano with Sense Of You, succeeded where the debut album seemed to find its limits, or the ability to do their various musical inspirations that came from his past and giving a more personal depth to the lyrics. This new album was born under such different auspices and inspiration, much deeper and perhaps very heartfelt, almost in these songs there was an urgency to communicate, a need to confront himself and who will care to listen through these songs. Frollano has succeeded in creating a free zone, in which the poem is to let the vehicle of their stories are not only personal but also inspired by facts and stories close to him. A sound level you can enjoy a great attention to the arrangements and in this fundamental sense seem that the many significant collaborations Frollano wanted for this record, especially the one with James Raymond (piano) and Jeff Pevar (guitar), but also of great Italian artists such as Marco Vannozzi (bass), Franco Piana (trumpet), Giuliana De Donno (harp) and Luke Scorziello (percussion). To open and close the disc is poignant Hello! A song that is sung at the beginning of Frollano same as in the closure of the talented Gabriella Paravati. Just Hello!, is the keystone of the entire cd, through intense and heartfelt lyrics of this song shows the theme of loss, separation, ultimately, the discovery of a sudden pain that leaves you breathless. In this sense also like to stress that the approach is much more vocal Frollano convinced interpretation, a clear sign that these songs are daughters of a very intense way. During the disc then emerge more songs, nearly all enriched by the presence of female voices like that of Daria Venuto, Chiara De Nardi, Paola Casella and Laura Visconti, and in particular we are obliged to mention the beautiful Chagall's Song, inspired by The Walk of the Russian painter, The Dance (also present in radio edit version as a bonus track), and the touching Fallin 'Apart. Then arrives on the final summit of the disc or the title track, a song in which shines the best electric guitar weaving and the intense text that contains a soul in some ways more profound than this disc. If Stefano Frollano will be able to give the right visibility to this work, playing live, we are confident he will have the satisfaction and the success it deserves. Salvatore Esposito

A review on Hungarian mag, Hi-Fi City
Stefano Frollano italian guitarist, plays for almost 40 years. His first band was called Symbiosis, which was founded in 1978. He has since faced a series of experiments with a range of groups and musicians (Karma, Blue Flares, The Wave, Skydog, Merli Rossi, etc..) Unfortunately have left an indelible mark on pop history. In the late 80’s Frollano focuses his work on the world of folkrock song, of which the United States are home, despite playing guitar for many decades its record production was modest. Since his first solo album in 2006 titled SF, it's been a bit 'of years for this new, recently on the market, titled Sense of You - The album has a repertoire of 11 songs and a bonus that has been written entirely by Frollano. His author has tried to produce a richer and more work for the project has resulted in a series of studio musicians. And so we have a Hammond, a slide guitar, a trumpet, a piano and of course the acoustic and electric guitars that are featured on many tracks. Include "Believe" and "Chagall's Song," "The Dance" and "Memory Of Your Love" - and although we are getting to grips with the songs of the album - in any way related closely to American music - that would be very difficult to guess the origin of Frollano if it were not for the fact the sound and the original elegance of its fine Italian author. - Who wants to know American modern and folk singers to enter this world can take the new album by Stephen Frollano.

Review of the album on Keys & Chords, Belgium
SF is an italian guitarplayer who moved to the american westcoast in 1997. So you can easily hear the musical influences of sunny california in his music. Through his folkrock you can also hear that Frollano is a huge fan of CSNY although he's also open for a more bluesy approach. Recordings were done in Italy and in the US. Along with italian musicians guitarist Jeff Pevar and keyboard player James Raymond (both with Crosby & Nash) are guesting on dreamy songs like the bluesy (She Won’t) Fly Away and the jazzy The Dance. Jeff Pevar is also brilliant on slide guitar in the titletrack. But even without the help from california musicians, Stefano Frollano sounds very convincing on his guitar, especially in “Believe”. In each song some italian beauty comes in to take the vocals to a higher level. In the closing song, Stefano only plays the acoustic guitar and leaves the vocals in the hands of Gabriella Paravati. Good songs, little remarks for this album.

Review from Sweden. Rootsy
An Italian artist, totally new to these ears, but already a growing fanbase in Italy. A very nice, laidback singer-songwriter-album, where he gets some help from friends James Raymond and Jeff Pevar. I'll have to check out his earlier releases!" Peter Nordgren

Review on the Sweden Kaj's Blog, Palace Of Rock
Stefano Frollano from Italy has been making albums since the mid 90´s with "Sense of you" being the latest one, Stefano is influenced by folk rock and west coast music with artists like America and Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young. So it must be a huge thing for Stefano when he is joined by guitarist Jeff Pevar and keyboardist James Raymond of Crosby, Stills and Nash´s backing band on this album. There is a comfy vibe running through the entire album but Stefano does not manage to move me with his voice, he is a better songwriter than he is a singer. There are some jazzy moments that are cool and my favorite is "Chagall´s song" but I`m not a fan of the Van Morrison-like songs such as "Fallin´ apart".

A review from Belgian magazine, Rootstime
Rootstime Italian singer guitarplayer Stefano Frollano finds the inspiration for his own songs in the typical californian west coast music scene. with the help of a bunch of italian musicians and singers, SOY became a CD containing 10 songs. He was barely 13 years old when SF learned to play the classic guitar. It was then he became a huge CSNY fan and also Neil young's Harvest made quite an impression on a young SF. That's why he decided to do something with folksongs and blues on his own. He formed a few bands in the 80's, but it wasn't until 1995 he released a first album with Skydog. 2 years later, SF decided to go to the States to record his first solo album “SF”. This album was filled with both electric and acoustic songs. Especially “Drifting Mine” got well know and got a lot of airplay due to the fact it was one of the songs of NY's Songs Of The Times project. It was a perfect start for Frollano who managed to play more than 500 gigs, opening for CSN and for Joe Henry. Also Italy got to know SF. So, the new album Sense Of You was a logical next step. The CD was recorded in Italy and in the US and a bunch of inportant names played with Frollano on the album. Backing vocals were sung by 5 female italian singers. Stefano took care of the lead vocal and lead guitar. The album is made up with easy listening folksongs with jazzy and bluesy influences. Recommended tracks are : Fly Away,Chagall’s Song, Northern LightsL, Your Eyes (a 7 minute ballad) and the title track Sense Of You being a duet wit Daria Venuto. The CD isn't a real must have, but one can't say it's a bad one either. Listener : it's really up to you....
